Sorry for your headaches George. Here are a few tips:
FSX - make sure you run the registry fixer in our fleet library if running FSX SE
Make sure if you're using win 10 that you disable onedrive
Install ACARS into c drive
Ahhh, Saitek panels. I had to install and purchase spad.next to get all my saitek radios and panels to work. There is a free like 60 day trial or something. It works great by the way but did cost some money. I believe it works in fs9 as well.

It should have installed somewhere and you should have it in your dropdown. Did you install from the DVD?

Try also to NOT install to the default program files directory in your c drive. Create a new folder called FSX or something in your root folder and install there. It might be a permissions thing.

You might want to disable A/V while you install it temporarily.

Hey George:
Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble on Windows 10. I don't use MSFS anymore, but I was running it successfully for about a year on Windows 10 before I switched over to P3Dv4. I'm sure that, between all of us here and given a little patience, we can get you up and running again!
Please post the information Joe requested, as well as some more specific details about the problems you're facing. You've said that things don't work, but we'll need a better idea of what, exactly, isn't working. If you're getting any error messages, please jot those down or take a screenshot of them, as they can be very helpful in the troubleshooting process. If it's not an error message, but it's not working right, just give us your best attempt at describing why you feel it's not working correctly ("When [x] happens, I expect: [y], but [z] happens instead").
Unfortunately, I don't have much time before work, so I have to keep this relatively brief. A couple things I'd recommend:
- During the install, make sure you disable any third-party antivirus (AV) you may have running. If you're not running any AV, Windows 10 comes with a built-in Windows Defender. You can find it in the Windows Settings section. Once you have FS installed, I recommend going BACK into your AV-- you can enable it again, but you'll want to add an exclusion for all of your FS stuff.
- Install location. While it's possible to get FS to run correctly when installed in its default location, under Program Files, it takes a lot of work and tweaking. It's much easier to install FS to a custom location. My preference, with FS, is to create a sub-directory on my hard drive, "FS," and that's where all things FS-related live. For me, I have a dedicated gaming drive (E:), so my FS "realm" lives at E:\FS. Inside of there, I have folders for Downloads, Program Files, Scenery, etc. But everything to do with FS lives inside of E:\FS. This also makes it easier for the AV: I have a single exclusion setup for E:\FS, and that exclusion covers any and all things FS-related.
- As a troubleshooting method (though, I like to maintain that it shouldn't be necessary all the time), try running FS as administrator to see whether it clears up problems you're encountering. IF you find that your experience is different between running FS normally, and running as administrator, then you know that there's a permissions issue that you need to fix somewhere.
- Windows 10 comes with a large plethora of built-in drivers to make almost anything you plug into it work at, at least, a minimal level. Just because your Saitek devices are recognized, though, doesn't mean they're at full capability. If you haven't already, I recommend heading over to Saitek(/Logitech these days) and picking up the latest available Windows 10 drivers for your various devices. It may be possible that the drivers that come with Windows are just generic joystick drivers that are enough to recognize your Saitek equipment, but not really enough to use the joystick properly. Getting the drivers directly from the manufacturer can help with this.
Good luck!
