As part of the newly released VFR Advanced Online Pilot course, pilots will plan and fly using a VFR flight spreadsheet and fuel/performance data. There are two new documents in the library so that pilots who are interested can start using them.
Flight Academy Aircraft AOM
Flight Academy VFR Advanced Online Pilot (VFRADV) Flight Planner Excel Sheet
Keep in mind, pilots will not have the ratings for the C172, C90. B350 or BE58 until they enroll in this course and the aircraft can only be used for Check rides while in the course. But, pilots are encouraged to fly them outside of ACARS and flight reports to practice up. I actully got that PA31 Saratoga from Just Flight and have been flying non-loggable flights in it for fun outside of DVA.
Note to flight report reviewers: If you see the above aircraft in flight reports, these should not be approved. Leave them for the FA staff to approve.
We're excited about the new course and all that our fine pilots will learn. If you never took a Flight Academy Course, they are extremely rewarding and full of great information that will make you a better pilot.
Thanks!
