There seems to be some buzz about creating a separate E170/E190 program. I wanted to open a poll just to gauge interest. This doesn't mean we're going to create a new program but I'd love to get people's opinions collectively.
Its just a poll.

Would this be a stage 1 aircraft rating? Just curious.

The E170/190 and E175/195 are a joy to fly. Flew the Feelthere ones extensively in FSX. I see real world Delta uses the E170 and E175. As you know Feelthere and Aeroplane Heaven are co-developing the aircraft family for P3D4. There also alternatives for X-plane. I would be in favor of the E170/E175 as much as I'm of the A220.

Would the ERJ family be a secondary part of this primary rating, or would they remain with the CRJ?

Ahhh Harvey...you have tapped into one of the complications. It does make some sense to make that change. I already started a todo list so that'll be a consideration. I really need to write a manual so let me see if i can crank that out first.

I rewrote this post at least 5 times before posting. I'm torn on it. The ERJs are undoubtedly popular, and certainly deserve recognition as primary players, but ultimately I would rather we promote the ERJs to primary ratings and not create a new program.
We could have a (turbo)prop program, a CRJ program, and an ERJ program, just like our Stage 2 offerings. The only thing about this is that the motivation for splitting off the ERJs seems to be their popularity. Does this mean that we'll have to revisit this in a few more years, as the RJ landscape changes? Alternatively, if we change the names of the stage 1 programs-- Prop/Turboprop and Turbofan, or perhaps Historic/Classic and Current --and elevate the 135/145/170/175 to primary ratings, we keep an existing structure that supports future changes in the RJ fleet.

Very good points Tyler and I'll be re-reading them and thinking on them. Its always good to think of the future and where we're going. If real world Delta gets rid of all the CRJ's, we would still have a CRJ program. My thought behind the E170/E190 program would be to create a little bit larger RJ program. Its becoming a newer market including the A220's Delta has on order. Plus, many of our pilots really enjoy their programs, no matter how large or small. I don't really see a lot of jumping around. Pilots find their group and stick with them. Not sure where the ERJ135/145 would fall yet either. I considered making it a primary aircraft but its not really the same as the larger E170 aircraft.
Good points though and I'll be giving them some more thought. I have about 15 things on my list now for this to happen so I'm working through it. I did find an E190 freeeware for every single type of sim we have (FS2004/FSX/P3dv3/p3dv4/xp10/xp11) and that's a huge accomplishment. We actually haven't added a program since we split the 757/767 programs a very long time ago I believe (like 12+ years).

I respect this entirely. As I mentioned previously, I'm very torn. A new program would certainly be exciting. Also, you make a great point about us being able to maintain an equipment program even if Delta retires the aircraft IRL. What I was so torn on is, while I really do like the idea of some "change," I just couldn't come up with a good way to split up the programs. Seat capacity was the most obvious thing to jump out at me, but that presents another dilemma: you'd end up splitting up the CRJs too. By seats, the CRJ2s would get lumped with the 135s and 145s, and the 700/900s would get lumped with the 170/190s; we'd basically have the same situation we have now, except with one extra program. I also considered the A220, but a quick check of Wikipedia (so, you know it must be true! <g>) yielded that it had been assigned to mainline rather than RJs. Perhaps that doesn't make a difference to many, but to me the idea of assigning a mainline aircraft to our regional equipment program seemed odd. It seems like the A220 (as a 100+ seater) should stick with the Stage 2 Airbus fleet.
I like your idea very much, but I got hung up on the logistics of it all. If you can craft something that makes sense, I think it would be fantastic. I don't envy you for having to figure out the logistics of it, though!
