Delta Air Lines welcomes its first Airbus A330-900
Toulouse, France - Today, On May 24, Delta Air Lines has received the first of 35 Airbus A330neos on order with a special ceremony held in Toulouse, France.
The A330-900s of Delta are intended to replace the aging Boeing 767s that are currently serving on the airline's long-haul routes.
Delta's new Airbus jetliners will be configured to accommodate 281 passengers - 29 in Business Class, 28 in Premium Economy and 224 in Economy Class.
New fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and a new wing structure with the increased span, which also features A350 XWB-inspired Sharklets, are the most important improvements that the A330neo series jets of the European manufacturer offer over the current generation of A330s.
Delta Air Lines was the launch customer for the Airbus A330-900. The airline ordered 25 copies in November 2014 and an additional ten copies last year.
The carrier will initially deploy its A330-900s at Seattle-Tacoma, where it will use the aircraft on flights to Shanghai, Seoul and Tokyo Narita.
With the addition of the Airbus A330-900, Delta will be operating Airbus’ both new generation wide-body jets. The US carrier has 13 Airbus A350-900 in service and a further 12 on order.
Delta's order book with Airbus exceeds 270 aircraft, including 100 A321neos.

Nice information. Good to know. Now if we can get a decent A330 model for simulation it’ll be awesome!

Very cool info. I believe the "mighty" terminology is supposed to be attached to 3-holer aircraft though.

1402, the last of the "Fab 4" 767-332 ETOPS (i.e., ETOPS but not ER) went to storage at BYH today. Sadly, BYH is the "chop shop"...1402 coming to a beer can near you soon!

If your 727 is so mighty then why does it need 3 whole engines just to fly right? My 737 only needs two and it can even go farther!
