DVA Operations announces that we have divided up the MD88 aircraft into the various Mad Dog versions. See above for the data and information. if you have passed an MD88 check-ride in the past, you should now have the ratings above and can use them.

As you can see, not all aircraft both freeware and payware are specifically the MD-88. In the past, we have considerd any MD8x aircraft to be the MD88. So, now you can log flights in the specific aircraft you're flying in.

Also, you can see in the table what aircraft are available freeware/payware and where to get them. Be sure to check with your chief and assistant chief pilots as to which aircraft are acceptable for a check ride.

The HJG aircraft can be used in FSX... If you read and follow directions. They are the ones I use. For the MD81/82/83,etc. panels for FSX you will have to download from flightsim.com or similar. They do come with a panel for FSX but are the default 737. For sound I just use an MD80/B717 soundpack. The forum for MDs in HJG explains it all.
