Some of you may find this one a bit corny. There is a big stretch of land in our mid part of the continental US famous for...you guess it...Corn. Fly into or out of these 29 airports in the Corn Belt and you'll join that exclusive flying club our farmers are proud of!

Here is the list: ABR, ATY, BKX, BMI, CID, CMH, CMI, DAY, DBQ, DSM, FOE, FRM, FSD, GRI, HON, ICT, LAF, LBF, LNK, LSE, MLI, MSN, OFK, OTG, PIA, RFD, RST, SPI, SUX. Yes, that last one is a real airport code.

Some of these rural counties were responsible for over 20,000,000 bushels each of corn in 2010.

Enjoy this pursuit and please, no barnstorming the cows!

PPS: While my native NJ has some of the best sweet corn on the planet, I didn't add it to the list since its not technically in the Corn Belt.

Recently heard Green Baron was taking additional training on real low passes/slow flight. The Green Baron aircraft left maintenance on Saturday night with new "chopping" props for mulching......need pireps if you see strange path carved in Midwest corn fields. Maintenance will check for corn stalks in wheel wells.... razz
