I am desperate to gain the 747 type rating however I am stuck in a DVA career limbo. I use P3DV4 only so do not have the option of an A330, 767 or usable Tristar. I find myself flying DVA less because of this, I know it sounds silly but I guess the same would happen for someone in a dead end job if that makes sense. I have no ambition to download or use freeware aircraft with 2D panel either. My question is. What do I do from here?
Cheers
Lonz

Hello Lonz,
What about Just Flight's L-1011? You could also wait for Aerosoft's A330, which seems to be close to release.

Lorenzo,
If you want a real challenge you should come over to the DC-6 program. Haha. Just kidding. I know that limbo good sir. I do know there is P3Dv4 compatible aircraft. Sadly PMDG is the best and you’d spend a good bit of money for it. I do know captain sim has an L1011 tristar. that they just released not too long ago. Again some money spent.
I fly on P3Dv4 myself and I’ll be honest I’ve found quite a joy discovering new aircraft and learning to fly them. I totally get the stuck in limbo feeling.
Definitely worth checking that out though and see. I think there may even be a cheaper or even a freeware 747 for P3Dv4 but I’m not sure?

There is payware for the DC-8 in P3D v4. DC-8 is a Stage 4 program.

My goal was the 747 also, and I worked through the fleet 757 and 767 as quickly as possible (I LOVE the PMDG aircraft, so wanted to really be flying them). It is a short period of flying another aircraft, that is quickly forgotten when you get to your "goal" aircraft! Hang in there, and plow through it-it is so worth it to reach your goal!

If you have the captain sim 757 and the level D 767 you can try this merge to fly the 767 in V4, I haven't tried it yet but alot of people in the P3D Facebook group seem to use it

I may be biased, but I do endorse this

Hi all, thank you for your responses. I have bitten the bullet and reinstalled V3 just to get the last few flights out of the way. Homeing in on my 747 wings ;-)
I must admit I have looked at the Aerosoft DC8 a few times though!
Cheers
