Well I did it. I built myself a new PC.
I am basically running an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core CPU, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU, 4 16gb Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz RAM, MSI Arsenal Gaming AMD B450 motherboard with a Samsung 970 EVO SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe and a 1Tb Samsung SSD SATA III.
I have already screwed up with OneDrive. After downloading P3Dv4 and some other software I didn't realize it went to OneDrive.
I didn't know or at least forgot the default documents file was OneDrive until too late. I just spent hours and hours downloading almost 300gbs of stuff.
Everything works great but I sure would prefer my stuff to be on my PC for free rather than $1.99 a month for extra space on OneDrive. What a rip!!

What are your first impressions? I’m seriously thinking about building my own (would be my first time), but I’ve been scared to pull the trigger...

Don`t be Thomas. You will get a lot of help on Videos and reading the manual. When I first build mine, I was so excited and want to build lot`s of them. I`m now on 4th build, waiting for the 5th Build for MSFS 2020. Just waiting for their release and what people are discussing it.
If you can, start build something cheap just for a spare.

Well gang,
So far so good. This is my second build it with the exception of a bad motherboard to start with everything went great. I got the motherboard through Amazon so the replacement was fast. I did have some issues with Windows 10 sneaking in OneDrive for my default Doc file which I didn't want but I think I have that solved now. I haven't been on line yet, still load my aircraft. Taking my time so I know each part is up to speed before I move on. All in all graphics are awesome, speed and smoothness (is that a word?) is great. I am only running P3Dv4 for now. When I know that is stable I'll move to XPlane 11 because if my system can run that at higher settings I'll know I have a good system. So Thomas go out there and build build build and have fun! By the way I am by no means a computer guy I am a 63 year old truck driver, so if can do it you can too! Good luck and Smooth Flying!

Thiago,
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core CPU, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU, 4x16gb Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz RAM,
MSI Arsenal Gaming AMD B450 motherboard with a Samsung 970 EVO SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe and a 1Tb Samsung SSD SATA III.
P3Dv4 is at a mostly high setting. Haven't over clocked yet AMD Adrenaline is doing some of the work.
I am not that good at how to set things up yet but I'll get it soon enough. Thank Goodness for YouTube right?

Thiago, At the time I was shopping the AMR Ryzen 2600 Six-Core CPU was a good price. If you're thinking Intel, I had read Intel is better for Flightsim but over all I think I done good. Thanks though for your comment. Be Safe.

Hi Brooks,
Right now there is not such thing better intel. AMD come back harsh and they are doing amazingly good with their new Ryzen`s. I just think 2600 is too low, "only if you thinking to add payware heavy addons. That`s all!
This is also a good reading between Intel vs AMD: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/amd-vs-intel/
