Lockheed-Martin has announced the imminent release of Prepar3D v5.0 today, around 2000 GMT (or 3PM eastern). There will also be a release of FSUIPC6. I expect that only minimal changes will be needed for ACARS to support Prepar3D v5 at launch. Those will be included into a Build 146 Beta when they are ready. If you expect to be using Prepar3D v5 right after launch, please switch to the beta channel in ACARS to get P3Dv5 support when it's released.
I need your feedback and testing; the more flights are logged on P3Dv5 using the beta, the sooner it gets propagated to the release cycle.

I may wait until every addon company stops supporting P3D ver 4 to decide. The PMDG NGX/NGXu update would be the mandatory pre-requisite for me. I'm contemplating a computer purchase later for both FS2020 and P3D 5.

I’m with Brittany on this one. PMDG is going to take a bit of time they said today.
I can’t wait to try v5 of P3D. Frames supposedly are improved from what I’ve heard.

Looking around my house, I'd say the terrain mesh is decent, the landclass needs work. The horizon is pretty good - it looks like the Blue Ridge from my place on a clear day. It's difficult to say what it's going to be - especially when one considers what P3Dv4 did. It's got promise, and it's day 0. There's also some pretty basic bugs that need resolution.

I like v5 so far - look forward to getting the "real" airplanes working in it. Did I see that you have the QW 757 working?

Ahhh. The one place I didn’t look lol. I went over the settings tab like 50 times looking for it haha. I’ll give it a go in a few minutes. I do still need to port over my aircraft but sadly most of not all of them have not released a v5 installer yet but say they should mostly work but can’t provide support. Aside from that, there’s no real world weather in v5 and active sky doesn’t know when it will be able to update. Given those vitals (for me at least) my time in v5 will be limited but I’ll do and test what I can with what’s available at the time.

I understand - I've managed to port the QW 757 to P3Dv5 pretty quickly. I won't be doing too much until AS16 comes out, and I get a new 500GB NVMe drive for my simulators.

It is connecting to the new FSUIPC6, it is reading P3dv5 correctly, it is reading the stages correctly, pulled RAAS data correctly. I have no errors to report at this time. This was tested starting at the gate at KMEM (payware), pushback, taxi, takeoff, SID in the Captain sim 757-300 (ported from P3dv4). As mentioned previously, without the use of real-world weather I don't want to really do any valid full flights (planning-completion) with v5. I have no issue with testing ACARS for segmented flights, or short hops that I don't want on my logbook.

Luke, how do I get ACARS to download the update for the beta again? I tried it while P3D was running and it couldn't do FSUIPC while it was running, and i'm still getting the error (MSFS/P3D is not running" when trying to start a flight.

The biggest thing holding me up from switching to P3D 5 is the fact that MegaScenery and the RealitySim Atlanta sceneries haven't been updated for version 5. Or have they?
