I've been reading through the pilot manual and through some of the threads I found on here, but I guess I'm still not fully understanding the scheduling system DVA has. I decided to plan on doing a KAL flight from RKSI to PANC this weekend however when I loaded into my aircraft and started up ACARS the flight wasn't in the schedule and it wouldn't let me select PANC as an arrival from RKSI even though Korean Air has daily flights on this route in the real world. I can't remember if I had seen it in the schedule previously or if I was just assuming it was there because I knew KAL operated that route, but either way I was not able to do the flight because ACARS (and even the manual flight report) would not accept that airport pairing.
With this issue I am also wondering how to work on some of the pilot accomplishments such as the Iditarod Club where you have to fly to a bunch of different Alaskan airports, but if you search in the schedule there aren't any flights to or from them. How would I fly those routes?
Am I missing something? Is there another way to get ACARS to accept the airport pairing?

Some flights are not in our schedule as occurring every day; however, if you find them using "Find a Flight" and reserve them as a "flight assignment" then you can fly them on any day (since the route was valid when you assigned it). Your assignments will keep for a couple of weeks, so you can plan your routes ahead of time. Once you load up ACARS, you can choose a draft flight report from your assignments, and it should allow the route regardless of whether it is scheduled on the day you're flying.
Hope that helps!

I have been using Find a Flight just not reserving it. When I put RKSI as the departure then go over to arrival and type in PANC it immediately deletes it and doesn't let me search for it. If I use the drop down menu to search for the arrival it just gives me a limited list of airports. Does this mean I can only search for the flight on whatever day it happens to be scheduled for in the DVA schedule or am I running into some sort of website glitch on my end?

Samuel,
So to answer your question, with the update of the schedule we’ve had some airports may have become non serviced by RW Delta and Skyteam airlines affiliates.
To add to what Thomas said, most of our flights do run on certain days of the week. So you’ll have to search on different days.
Hope that helps answer your question.

Hi Samuel,
I don’t think you will find a pairing of RKSI to PANC because this is a cargo flight and we don’t fly that here. I wish it was true.
You can search for RKSI and KAL and you will find all the flights there are but no cargo flights.
Hope this helps.

Yeah that answers it I guess, I just wish there were another way of searching for flights. I'd rather not have to remember to search every day to see if the flight I want to do is on the schedule that particular day, I don't normally plan my flights out days in advance.

Ah okay. For some reason I thought I remember seeing a KAL RKSI-PANC passenger route, but I guess I was mistaken.

Samuel,
Also another thing I just thought of, you can check any of our other code share airlines to see if that route is with them. On fine a flight just click on airlines and it’ll list our codeshare airlines and you can scroll to the top and leave it blank and it’ll search all airlines in our system for this route.
Best regards,
Joe

That is normally what I do when flying overseas. Unfortunately none of our codeshares operate that route. For some reason I thought there was a KAL passenger flight on that route, but I guess it is only cargo.

Perhaps we can suggest an enhancement where you can view the schedule for the next 7 (or some other number of) days between two city pairs? An example of the format I'm thinking of is from FlightRadar24 (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airlines/dl-dal/routes and click on an airport to bring up the full list of departures to and arrivals from that airport).
For folks flying a connected logbook (and who don't love only doing out-and-back trips), it would be a convenient view to mimic for planning multi-leg trips.

That would be a little more helpful because that is pretty much the boat I am in. I always fly from the last airport I landed at so waiting for the whatever day the next leg of my flight is supposed to be is kind of difficult.
