I am pondering some computer upgrades. For the CPUs on the market today - I7 or I9, is it best to get a water cooler for the CPU?
Also, when a CPU get hot, does the motherboard adjust the speed to lower the temperatures?
Thanks in Advance. Scott

Thiago, Thank you for responding. I am half heartedly thinking about moving to a new Windows 10 box. My old machine is circa 2011. I moved my wife up to Windows 10 with a new computer. She is not a gamer - I built her a machine with an Intel Core i9-10850KA Comet Lake 10-Core 3.6 GHz, and a MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti DirectX 12 GTX 1050 TI. I am using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition CPU Air Cooler, SF120R RGB Fan. It runs FSX SE with no problems. The system cost $1,700. However, there was a message that said the CPU was hot (can't remember exactly how or when I saw the message). So I was wondering if I should be running with a liquid cooler when using FSX? (I am assuming a liquid cooler is better than air.)
I may may use her computer, but might just buy another one - similar to hers (maybe better?). But if I build another one, I was thinking I may need a liquid cooler. You asked what type of system hi, med, lo. Interesting question. I think I'm about a ~$1800 simmer. I love the technical aspects of flying, navigating, communicating, and the scenery is second.
The parts list hyperlink you provided showed a top of the line Graphics card. I think the TI100 I bought may be more towards the bottom - but it works. I didn't think that graphic cards were that important for FSX or FSX SE. So as you can tell, I am trying to juggle a lot of things in my mind. Any further comments is greatly appreciated. Thanks! And Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays....Scott

Found a link to an article that talks about PC components for FSX. Seems to square with what I've heard others say. They also sell computers, so it's interesting to see which components they choose.
