Since I'm from South Carolina, my first accomplishment I'm pursing is the Carolina Club completion. My issue is that when I search for Delta routes that land at KFLO, the airport does not return any hits. From what I understand, only flights that are part of Delta's approved routes are allowed to be flown for credit. Is there a workaround or exception in place for such an occurrence?
Thanks!
Paul

Paul,
I would recommend checking out the DVA master list of accomplishments via the document library. It will show which requirements such as airports to arrive at or aircraft are counted towards credit.
Also for the airport can you submit a help desk ticket so we can track this?
Thank you,
Joe

Yes Joe, I'll send in a ticket for it.
After going back and checking through the airports, there are at least another 3 I found that do not have active routes when searching with "Find a Flight".
Just to get a clear understanding, can i still fly a leg that puts me landing at the airport to get credit towards the accomplishment, but since it isn't in an official route just not receive promotional credit for my rating? OR, are pilots not permitted to even submit a PIREP for an unauthorized flight?
Cheers,
Paul

Paul,
So the active policy is a pilot can file a flight report to any airport provided that it is valid in our schedule database and you can safely make the trip with plenty of fur reserves.
In this particular case it sounds like the report would be held and questioned and ultimately be rejected due to the route not being in the database.
I also recommend checking the find a flight feature we have, and check on different days of the week and different airlines. I know Eurocap club we have a bunch of flights from our codeshare airlines.
Best regards,

Thanks Joe, I'll monitor it throughout the week and see if things change. In the event they don't, how would the administrative personnel at DVA address something like that (Having accomplishments that aren't achievable due to route amendments Delta may have established since the target airports were set)?

Paul,
If you can create a help desk ticket for this and include the three other airports I’ll look into this further. Each accomplishment should have a valid route which we double check.
To answer your question we will research any routes either active or historic if flown by real world Delta we will implement it.

Paul, there's a Delta Historic Flight (DVH) 5704 from KATL to KFLO flying four days a week. DVH 5703 is KFLO-KATL, also four days a week.

To piggyback on this from David. The schedule is dynamic and not all flights are offered daily. I would search for the flight and if you find it, add it to your log book and then you can fly it at your leisure.

Chris beat me to the punch on this, as I have experienced it myself. Flight assignments are a great way to "save" a flight to fly later. I'm slowly working toward the Carolina Club myself.

I've been only a year and a bit in the VA and have slowly honed my skills at finding that elusive route and necessary destination airport. I admit I find a route one day and the next day I think I dreamt the whole thing cos I can't replicate the search but that is very seldom. I have to say that somehow they are there to be found and flown and just a tiny difference in the search parameters finds them and I give out a big !!holla!! and my wife comes running in thinking I must have won the lottery. She is used to me getting ecstatic when a tricky route search pops up for me. I can say that in previous VAs I've built the route database from scratch and you just hope that the Pilots can navigate through it comfortably.

I've noticed that sometimes the flight you are looking for doesn't fly every day of the week. It might be only available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Searching for this flight on the weekend or say a Tuesday will not return the flight from Find-A-Flight. Just my 2 cents worth...
