I was at Sea Air and Space in Baltimore this week and was able to do a few carrier traps in the Collins 6th gen fighter rig. It uses X-Plane 11 as the base, their ejection seat, and their PFD/ND and tablets. Made three successful traps. I also flew the Boeing F/A-18 Next Gen display demo, first trap was easy with no wind or carrier movement. Second trap had a 10 knot cross wind, carrier pitching side to side, and carrier at 20 knots, I boltered the first trap but caught the 3rd wire on the second attempt. The Boeing sim uses proprietary software vice X-Plane 11 second picture is their rig, with someone else in it.
