OK, so my 4TB mechanical hard drive finally crashed with "critical process died" BSOD. Try to resurrect it with System Restore. It doesn't like my password, so I now have a new doorstop.
I bought a new 1TB Sandisk SSD and loaded Windows 10, did all the req'd updates, loaded the most recent Radeon Vega 56 drivers. Everything's working fine.....except FSX, which worked fine on my old hard drive with the same exact everything. SP 1 and SP 2 installed. DX9.0c installed.
Here's what happens: I go to the start screen and begin with the default flight of the Ultralight. It flies beautifully and my CH yoke is even recognized and works.
As soon as I land, the graphics just stop working smoothly as if it can't process ground graphics suddenly. It's a frame, then a pause, then a frame, then a pause and so on.
I've removed everything and reloaded again, shutting down the computer with each software removal and reload. Defragged.
Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.
