Thank you all. I had to learn a new trick. With some of these flights I found that the a/c was not parked at the nominated gate. It could be parked anywhere such as in some grassy field between runways, on a runway pointing in any direction except parallel and in one case thousands of miles away in a different part of the world. So I always made sure that I recorded the co-ordinates of the airport in the planning stage from Skyvector or from Google Earth. Using FSX, I would enter the co-ordinates in MAP. That worked most of the time. I also had to make sure that I entered the correct elevation or I found myself suspended above the airport.
