KLM started flying the AMS-SAN route earlier this month! It would be great to get these flights added to the schedule.

KLM639, Tu/Th/Su, B789, Dep AMS 0750 Z (0950 CEST), Arr SAN 1900 Z (1200 PDT)
KLM640, Tu/Th/Su, B789, Dep SAN 2055 Z (1355 PDT), Arr AMS 0715 Z (+1) (0915 CEST [+1])

These are both Delta Codeshares (DL9221 and DL9218, respectively).

It would have been nice last year when we took a trip to Amsterdam! Had to connect instead (ATL/SLC), but at least got to experience the Delta A350 and A339.

I submitted a Help Desk ticket for the staff to track getting it added. Looking forward to flying it (especially since we don’t get many long-haul flights from SAN).

Ahh, I was trying to figure out where to request the route to be added, but hopefully soon its in the schedule, and yeah it will be the only long haul in the skyteam, I love doing long hauls, ever since the PMDG 777's

I’ve been flying the wheels off the B772 since it came out (at least as much as a full time job and two young kids will allow). I love flying out of my “home” airports (PHL, BOS, SAN), but there aren’t many long haul options in SD (yes, I could fly the 777 on a shorter domestic route - UAL flies the IAD-SAN route with a B772).

Interestingly, I found an Air France CDG-SAN flight in our schedule that doesn’t exist in the real world. I believe it was only offered for a week due to some big conference here in SD?

Yeah I really enjoy the aircraft, I would also enjoy alot the PMDG 747 but they wont release on in MSFS2020. But I saw that too, a CDG-SAN then SAN-CDG but apparently it was for a very limited time or a special flight. I looked up on YouTube an Air France landing in San Diego and it did happen for an event going on there. I truly wonder, though, why there is an Air France flight added but not the KLM one?? It was added after the fact you requested a help desk ticket, and anyone who is a staff at DVA and see this, maybe a why would be helpful. If charter flights were allowed, I would of already flown the route.

I suspect that the AF flight appeared in whatever dataset was used for the most recent schedule update (I mean, it was a real flight… just very limited!), but the KLM flight didn’t (maybe because it hadn’t started yet?). There is no way that someone is hand-jamming every flight into the database manually, so the issue must be with the source data.

I’m sure the operations staff will get the KLM flight added soon enough.

Not sure how often the schedule gets update but if its a codeshare, i would suspect this flight will show up at the next update.

As for hand-jamming flights into the schedule, this is exactly how the historical schedules are created. Its extremely time consuming. Keep in mind all staff are volunteers and put in a lot of time into making this VA what it is today at no cost to the members so Ops will get to it when they have a chance.

No I completely get that its all volunteer, but I have always been under the impression that all flights are manually added. Thats why I asked why that showed up and the KLM one didnt. I am genuinely curious, Did I miss a memo but since when has the VA been having an automatic database for flight?
Either way I truly enjoy this VA, its amazing.

No you're correct. There is a database that gets updated. It was quarterly when I was in Ops but I'm not sure of the frequency now.
