I'm pleased to announce that Builds 47 and 13 have been uploaded to the DVA2006 site. Due to a bug in the Fleet Library, you cannot get Build 47 of ACARS client from the new site's Fleet Library. Log into the site, and then download the following file directly:
http://golgotha.deltava.org/fleet/DVA-ACARS.exe
Build 47 has a number of new features, most prominently some more reliable code that won't crash when Gaston uses it, and a first draft of the ACARS manual. It doesn't include documentation of the SB3 integration, and the code doesn't yet have IVAp integration, but hopefully it's stable and it works for you.
Build 13 of the DVA2006 web site and ACARS server has some really significant changes. For those of you who had problems logging into the ACARS server with high-latency, low-speed connections, this beta just might fix those for you. ACARS is my first adventure into high-performance, low-level TCP/IP socket programming, and hopefully this build will give you the same level of performance as Ross Carlson's versions were able to do a few weeks ago. The new build's live map hopefully fixes some issues we have had with multiple connections, and allows you to zoom in on a particular pilot.
Please give the site a whirl at http://golgotha.deltava.org/ Assuming no unforseen events, the DVA/AFV sites will be down for 48-72 hours over Labor Day when I cut over all of the data, and we move to the new site and new code. Delta Virtual is unique among virtual airlines in that we have kept all of our data since 2001. This is NOT going to change when we migrate to the new site. We have a rich heritage and history that will be preserved.
Here's a screenshot of the last ACARS test. How many other vrtual airlines can claim a freeware ACARS package that can provide this level of detail, be completely free, as well as providing auto-transponder, NAV radio tuning and approach chart printing????
Cheers!
