I noticed this the other day flying between Cincinnati and Omaha. According to the website the mileage was only 162 miles or so. The mileage between Kansas City and Omaha is almost 180 miles or so, and that was just one leg on the flight. I was just curious if anyone else has seen that or if there is anyway to fix it. I thought it was kinda funny in a way it took me 1 1/2 hrs to fly 169 miles, which meant i was screaming at a whopping speed of about 115 mph or so. Wow. I didn't know the B767 could go that slow...lol. I was just wondering if anyone else has had probs with this. Or if there are any plans to fix it.

Curacao to Montego Bay is listed as a .9 flight in the database too - that might work if I were flying it in an F/A-18 Hornet or something...
I am guessing it is mileage based computed for groundspeed? have no idea

Matthew, this problem is related to the fact that I have the latitude/longitude coordinates for Omaha entered incorrectly within the airport database. I created a draft PIREP from CVG to OMA and the map places OMA somewhere in Northern Indiana.
I'll look up the coordinates and update the database. I am unsure if I want to go through the exercise of updating every PIREP filed to and from Omaha in the last five years to update the distance correctly, but if someone is insistent it can be done.
Cheers!
Luke

I fly a lot of world tour legs (65 so far) on IVAO and it makes it hard to file a pirep if they are not in the Database

Are you sure it's not the difference between nautical and statute miles that is throwing you off?

No it has nothing to do with miles. The airport ICAO's do not even show up in the drop down boxes as an option...so I have just been filing KJFK to ????, Which is actually making my total miles flown invalid because the legs are 1000+nm. But i put the Actually route in the remarks.....

Dan, if you are flying codeshare flights, try looking up the flight under the partner airlines name. Use their flight num, then in the comments just put DAL Codeshare flight num XXXX.

For example I did an IVAO World Tour 2006 Event Leg and one of the airports was LMML which I could not find in the Airport database when I tried to file a pirep. So I put "Event - IVAO WT2006 LMML-????" in coments of the pirep.
**NOTE**
???? - cannot rember other airport name
Pirep was approved. But now. My "miles flown" is not accurate..
Easier yet. Just go look at some of my flights flown in my pilot log. Then you will have a better understanding of what I am refering to....
