Hi all,
Just to say that during my virtual career, i tried several Virtual Airlines, among them : AAL, United, CyberAvia, and very recently BAW.....
and from my point of view DVA is and still the best !!!!!
So to the Staff i would say : Thanks and Don't give up work !!!
My regrets :
A kind of Cargo or charter Divisions

I almost made a "dva greatness" thread today, would just like to thanks everybody for all their help that they have done for me the past couple days, I mean I posted that I was having a problem with the LDS and within like 30 mins I had it resolved thanks to the help of our great members and staff here. So I agree with steeve and say Thanks to all the staff and members! We ourselves are what make DVA the best VA on the web and the best VA in history!!
Happy flying! J.T.

hi !!
Yes! I can also say that DVA is the best VA. I've been looking for the most realistic (i mean very close to real world aviation procedures and datas) virtual Airline and i found it, up to this day, at DVA.
So keep making enthousiasts like us still connected to our dreams. To all the team of DVA, i just say "GOOD JOB".

my "list"
1.UVA - DVA's a great VA but UVA is sponsored by United, they have a fully updated route that comes monthly from UA. their Checkride requirements are out of this world.......if you plan to fly the Queen You had better have the Skill (lots of failed checkrides). the point is to make you a better Pilot there are many people over there who are a wealth of Knowledge, Anklesocks is a now Retired 747-400 Captain with Virgin Atlantic, and Leo is a Retired 777 Captain with United, I've learned so much about Real world Aviation that I would be in the dark without the people there.
2.DVA - lacks behind UVA for the following above
3.BAV - Speedbird Virtual is a Great Virtual airline, their staff and software are both top notch
4. not a fourth one worth mentioning on my list

yes, but are your checkride's Graded by Real world Standards?
Did the captain accelerate to 250 at a 1000Ft Company SOP decision height
Proper Lighting Useage
Did he fly the procedure properlyl
what's the Density Altitude based on KORD local weather
How Stable was the approach
The checkride has 67 more Standards that need to be followed and how badly you screw up is followed by either a
Technical Error-can get so many before you fail
Critical Error-Big Ding in your score
Fatal Error-Refly the checkride.
a Fatal Error is a Landing more than 850FPM and the Checkride's are generally pretty hard for your average PC pilot to pass. this promotes Learning and becoming a better pilot. that's the reason many of the best are at UVA. like i said though DVA is in close second

Ryan I know what you mean about the checkrides, our procedures take into consideration the recreational pilot too, not everyone wants to take a real checkride. Our goal here is that you learn how to fly the a/c but you also have FUN doing it... we request you study several manuals but we never will request you study from the real AOM for example.
DVA encourages you learn and progress in your virtual pilot career but we are not going to pushing it, it's up to you to make yourself a better pilot.
Now.... I can erase your 757 ratings so you can take the 757 checkride if you wants to.
Contrary to popular belief that the 757 CR is one of the toughest ones, we make concessions 'cause we take into consideration the overall CR score, how the pilots progress from one CR to another, etc, etc... but I can give you the full ride only on your request and there's a big possibility you won't pass the CR on the first try. It's not the KDFW CR you flew.
Here you have "some" of the 757 CR rules
Any of these incidents mean automatic failure:
- Unstable approach and landing.
- Usage of AP and A/T after CLOWD int.
- Unproper speed/flaps usage (stall or breaking the flaps structural limits)
- Pilot didn't follow altitude restrictions on the approach. (PLEASE STUDY THE CHARTS)
- Unproper cruise FL
- Breaking the "below 250kts under 10,000 feet" rule by significant airspeed deviation.
- Landing short of or overrunning the runway
- Unproper payload/fuel loading.
- Use of a different Flightplan
Regards

Well, if you read every one of the failure limits Charly spelled out above, you know as a DVA pilot that, yeah, you don't want any of that to happen....ergo, what other VA offers that knowledge to be learned or lived by??? I can't say for sure, but DVA taught me all that, and I don;t know what other Va does...don't really care. And for that reason, I will joind the DVA ROCKS thread

Charly, if i get a cookie for passing it, Your ON! just wait a moment before you erase my rating (on a flight right now with the 752 will be done by 1:00AM mountain time) and send me that checkride.
many of those things are very similar to the CATIII restrictions witch i passed two days ago, (I was CAT 6 but i decided to reset myself over at UVA, Turboprops up)
I'm always looking to become a better pilot and that's always the main reason of any failed checkride-there's improvement to be made.

LOL .. I won't erase your 757 ratings.. that was just an extreme incentive from me so you take again the CR.
What I really wanted to say in the above post is that we can be 'as real' as any other VA if you request it... I don't like to say here we are better or worst, we have our own path which is good for some people and bad for others, I think we try to make all pilots happy here but maintaining a minimum standard.
I'm pretty sure any a/c program CP/ACP can give you a harder CR/scoring upon your request.
Let me know when you want to recieve the checkride and I will assing you one (or send you the CR via email)
hint, practice how to fly a depressurized 757 with one engine out, no nose gear, small hydraulic leak, pitot probe malfunction thanks to duck tape on it and no coffe onboard. j/k

Some pilots here are casual pilots, so a really hard checkride like at UVA, or a long distance one 5+ hours won't work.

I flew with a couple VA's before I found DeltaVA. These couple airlines are nowhere close to DVA. I like the challenge from Delta to earn the stripes instead of being awarded stripes by the number of hours one flies. I have been able to pass tests and check rides to get to 767 series. If you knew me, you would understand how difficult it has been but has been very rewarding. Without getting into why, I just can not pass 777 checkride and am happy with what I have. Many have helped me along the way and many thanks. I will soon be with DeltaVA 2 years. Thanks guys and God bless you all.

Yeah, no offense to Andy Kauffman, but I decided to switch back to the default sigs instead of the one he made.

i must concur with a majority of post that DVA is the best VA, A close second is BVA, which i am a member of also. in regard to the UVA comment made about checkrides, lot of the pilots that fly VA's is just recreational. for me, i have a healthy interest in aviation which makes it all the more fun. whats the point of taking a real world checkride? chances are that if you where put in the real thing, you would fail it anyway! unless you are looking to become a real world pilot then there is not much point. DVA bring a mix of professionalism and fun which is appreciated by all. Serious enthusiasts will join the Flight Academy.
ALL I CAN SAY IS DVA ROCKS!! WELL DONE TO ALL WHO MADE IT A GREAT SUCESS!
