Issue Description |
Hi sir.. I have idea for next ACARS development
Add time when we reach T/C (top of cruising) also add time when we begin to decent at top of decent
SMARTCARS have this feature…
Right now we only have take off information without time in it |

William,
I’m going to reassign this to Luke. He may be interested to know if you have an idea how it can be implemented. |

If you are using a payware plane like the PMDG or the FSLabs, this information is provided to you in the FMC and FMGC. |

What calculations or use would logging these two date/times provide? |

Yeah, you are right . Coding is about formula like math. It is entire math, algorithm
Maybe this will work
Read the Flight Level altitude input by pilot. Once the aircraft reach those FL start the clock in real time and write it down
And for T/D once aircraft going down for more than -1500fpm write the time at the momment for decent
You can do it. Because i notice at the end of PIREPS our ACARS can read flight time which mean since the wheel lift up from the ground until the wheel hit the ground
So , if the pilot reach (for example) FL340 in 05.55 in their real time , than write down : Top of Cruising : 05.55
In the ACARS map when we climb it is yellow , also for decent.. blue when cruising
But if ATC request maintain several altitude before we reach FL it become blue too
We can trick this by read FL input by pilot on the ACARS.
When aircraft not reach several altitude in FL in the ACARS it is mean they maintain before climb further
If for example I inputed FL380 but ATC request maintain at 240 it will turn blue sign in live acars map (dont read using that code).
When i reach 380 than start the clock
Because we have flight time , i dont think so we must input how long we cruise
Formula for how long we cruise is :
How long we cruise = T/D - T/C
It maybe turn into (-) minus, but simple. Just make minus sign dissapear..
Than we have more detail about how long we cruise
It is simple math , as simple we fimd how far we cruise before reach T/D , by T/D - T/C
If you didnt get it, i can put more in example
I believe we can add t/c and t/d time |

How long we cruise can be meassure by 1 second after reach t/c until last second when we left t/c
Or , like if we climbing (for simple) 5 minutes, and decent 7 minitues. Meanwhile our entire flight is 1 hours and 8 minutes
It is mean we cruise for around 54minutes
Just put it there : Cruising 54 minutes
Thats i mean by t/d - t/c = cruising time
Diffirent people will have difirent way. Any other idea? |

Figure it out too, where to put those information.
So it will look good and nice
Make maybe 4-5 picture include by TC and TD time then choose on of the best then implement it on ACARS beta first
Lets try how it work, bofore release to our commounity |

You misunderstand my question. I know how to calculate the data (it's not particularly difficult because it triggers an announcement already).
What value is provided, and specifically what calculations can I do once I have that data? |

As an example, the pushback and shutdown times are useful because I can calculate average taxi times per airport. |

Understood…
Maybe we can learn to be more pay attention about every detail, so not only in simulator but also in life we can adjust and manage our life to be better from yesterday (next flight will be better than before), and next year should be more good than this year. If it’s not good ? Than we make it good
Just put the detail on it sir, it will be more good and excellent. Like in real airline, every hours happen they wrote it down
We can find what to improve if we try to catch on time departure and on time arrival maybe ?
Many reason, because every person have their mind, their state, their feel |

The world is full of details. Some are more important than others.
TOC and TOD are not useful for calculating on time departure or arrival. If there is a specific reason this data will be useful, I will add it. Every feature has a cost in terms of complexity and maintenance. |

Ok, I just now it need cost and maintenance
You can close this too |

I've changed my mind and am adding TOC/TOD detection to the next major ACARS release.
Detect TOD and descend announcement only when >125 mi from destination. |
