02/25/2004	Battle of the Carriers Results	Luke Kolin
The results have been released for the Battle of the Carriers event last Sunday afternoon, and Delta Virtual Airlines finished a respectable second with 30 landings, compared to American Virtual Airlines' 39. Tied for 3rd were Virtual Continental and PIC with 22. I was hoping for a double play weekend after absolutely dominating the Oakland Oceanic event to Hawaii the day before, but it was not to be. Either way, we carried ourselves very well and are clearly one of the dominant virtual airlines on VATSIM today. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in the skies on VATSIM soon, and avenging this result next time.

Due to real world commitments, I have decided to resign my position as the Chief Pilot of the 737 program. It has been a privilege serving you this past year, however, I believe my decision to be in the best interest of the airline. I will remain an active pilot with Delta Virtual, but as my military duties become increasingly unpredictable, I will be unable to continue serving as a chief pilot and staff member. Since I began flying Delta jets, just shy of two years ago, I have seen many significant changes within the airline. Let there be no doubt that our organization continues to set the status quo for virtual airlines throughout the community. I am proud to have played a role, albeit minor, to its growth and success. Our pilots have never ceased to amaze me with their astounding contributions to the friendly, professional atmosphere, for which DVA is known and respected. I salute each and every one of you for your support and assistance throughout my tenure as the 737 Chief Pilot.

Philip Rothberg has added to his impressive list of promotions at DVA the accomplishment of Senior Captain in a stage 4 aircraft, the highest level of accomplishment a pilot can attain other than program chief. He joined DVA in May 03, and since then has racked up an incredible 464 flights and 1600 hours. Philip is a vet who served two tours in Viet Nam and his love is flying... congratulations Philip !!

Hello everyone, Due to the success from last week, Delta Virtual will take a groupflight down to Grand Cayman Islands. We were invited by Kingston FIR to take a groupflight on a Sunday afternoon, so I figured we would do it before Thanksgiving Break. Delta Virtual will be flying in from Atlanta, Delta's Hub. Departure out of ATL will be planned for 12:00 PM EST and arrival into GCM around 2:30 PM local time.* The groupflight again will be this Sunday, November 23rd.
